SCC’s Broadcast Production is managed by Executive Producer Leroy Koetz. Leroy began with SCC in 2004, bringing with him substantial commercial production credentials. Prior to his association with SCC, he owned Koetz & Co., Inc. for over 20 years. A successful Chicago-based commercial production company, Koetz & Co. averaged 1.5 million dollars of annual production sales for over 10 years with Leroy represented as the sole commercial director.
He first achieved worldwide attention for directing Leo Burnett’s award-winning Cheer campaign for Procter & Gamble. Advertising awards won for his commercials include one Gold and two Bronze Cannes Lions, numerous Clios, countless National and Region ADDYs as well as many other prestigious national and international awards.
The original Cheer “Live Demo” is ranked by both Ad Age and TV Guide as one of the top 50 commercials of all time. A subsequent spot in the campaign, “Flamenco”, was also recognized by AdWeek as one of the top spots of the 1990’s.
In his spare time, Leroy, who is an accomplished musician with several local bands, independently produces, directs and edits comedy short films with a small group of comedy collaborators. He also teaches a course on editing short films and commercials at Columbia College, rides his bike or motorcycle to work most every day, boats whenever he can, is an avid photographer- and is continually trying to finish several paintings he’s started over the years.
