I manage a newsroom of 30 journalists—including reporters, editors, artists and video producers—with the mission of telling insightful stories about the advertising industry wherever readers are. That includes our print magazine (established in 1978), website (5 million uniques) and social channels (3.7 million followers). A champion of collaboration and multimedia storytelling, I refine internal processes for maximum creativity and efficiency and represent the brand through podcasts, TV appearances and industry events.

I worked closely with the Digital Managing Editor to lead the day-to-day operations at, managing a team of editors, artists and social media specialists. I launched our Digital Projects—in-depth multimedia stories about the worlds of advertising, technology and TV—and AdweekU, a staff training program. My specialties include editing, headline writing, tracking site metrics, reimagining print content for the web and collaborating with department heads across the company. I write about the intersection of advertising and culture and make guest appearances on our podcast, Yeah, That's Probably an Ad.

• Researcher and editorial planner for Glamour’s special projects team and Woman of the Year franchise.
• Social media and publicity consultant to Susan Cain, best-selling author of Quiet.
• Contributing writer to PARADE, the most widely read magazine in the U.S. with 70 million readers.
• Editor and consultant to Adweek's Chief Content Officer. Worked closely with reporters and freelancers to ramp up the magazine's digital operation and publish stories, videos and blogs on extreme deadline.

As a graduate student in the competitive MFA Creative Writing program, I was research assistant to poetry coordinator, author and Best American Poetry (BAP) editor David Lehman. I coordinated literary events, including the annual BAP book launch gala featuring the nation's most celebrated poets and 300 attendees. I served as project manager for the book's anniversary edition, wrote speeches, scoured literary journals for fresh voices and copy edited manuscripts.

I oversaw daily operations at Phoenix’s highest-circulated magazine. As a manager of 25 editors, freelance writers, interns and photographers, my responsibilities included developing story ideas, helping writers execute them and editing the final page proofs. I also wrote travel and home decor columns. By spearheading a print and digital redesign and targeting young readers, I helped increase circulation by 13 percent in a down economy.
