Our Privacy Policy has been updated. This updated version of our Privacy Policy takes effect on May 25, 2018. 


Your Privacy Matters 

AdForum’s mission is to connect the Advertising world’s professionals. Central to this mission is our commitment to be transparent regarding the data we collect about you, how it is used and with whom it is shared. This policy describes what information we collect and how it is used and shared. You are entitled to know what personal information we hold about you. You are also entitled to update or correct your personal information. 1- Information AdForum Collects

1.1 Things you do and information you provide. 

Registration
To create an account you need to provide data including your name, email address, a password, work title, company name, country.  

Talent Profile
You have choices about the information on your profile, such as a summary, your education, work experience, skills, photo, city and country, endorsements. You don’t have to provide additional information on your profile; however, profile information helps you to get more from our Services, including helping recruiters and business opportunities find you. It’s your choice whether to include sensitive information* on your profile and to make that sensitive information public. Please do not post or add personal data to your profile that you would not want to be publicly available.

*We do not require Members to include sensitive data (e.g., race, ethnicity, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, physical or mental health, sexual orientation or criminal record) in their AdForum profile. If you choose to post any such data, it is visible to others like the rest of the profile information you provide). 

Company Profile
Agencies, productions companies and other businesses may add themselves to AdForum.com directories. During the online process that allows them to do so, the personal information of the user who inputs the data is requested: name, email and phone number. An AdForum.com Information Center member may use this information to contact this person for verification purposes. If the company decides to buy an upgraded listing in our directory, see also buyer information collection below. 

Posting and Uploading
We collect personal data from you when you provide, post or upload it to our Services, such as when you fill out a form or update your talent profile or company profile. You don’t have to post or upload personal data; though if you don’t, it may limit your ability to grow and engage with your network over our Services. 

 

1.2 Things others do and information they provide.  

Content and News
You and others may post content that includes information about you (as part of articles, posts, credits in Ads) on our Services. We collect public information about you, such as professional-related news and accomplishments (e.g., credits) and make it available as part of our Services (e.g. suggestions for your profile, or notifications). 

 

1.3 Information about payments. 

If you use our Services for purchases, we collect information about the purchase or transaction. This includes your payment information, such as your credit or debit card number and other card information, and other account and authentication information, as well as billing, shipping and contact details. 

 

1.4 Technical information and information about your visits. 

Technical information, including the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet, your login information, browser type and version, time zone setting, your ISP and/or mobile carrier, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, your location (if you are accessing the Services from a mobile device (note that most mobile devices will allow you to prevent location data from being sent to us).

Information about your visits, including the full Uniform Resource Locators (URLs) to, through and from which you access Our Service (including date and time); products you viewed or searched for; page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), methods used to browse away from the page, and any phone number used to contact us. 

 

1.5 Messages 

If you communicate through our Services, we learn about that. We collect information about you when you send, receive, or engage with messages in connection with our Services. For example, if you get push notifications, we track whether you have acted on it and will send you reminders. 

 

1.6 Service

Use We log your visits and use of our Services. We log usage data when you visit or otherwise use our Services, perform a search, update your profile, share articles or apply for jobs. We use log-ins, cookies, device information and internet protocol (“IP”) addresses to identify you and log your use.

2. Why AdForum collects data

We use your data to provide, support, personalize and develop our Services. How we use your personal data will depend on which Services you use, how you use those Services and the choices you make in your settings

 

2.1 Provide, improve and develop Services.

We use all of the information we have to help us provide and support our Services. Here’s how:

- Create, personalize, provide support and maintain your user account and profile for Our Services and to provide you with various services and with adverts that are more relevant and useful to you.
- Send you information about your account, the facilities We or Our related companies provide or changes or upgrades that We make to those facilities.
- Authenticate you and authorize access to Our Services.
- Alert you of relevant opportunities and activities (including, without limitation, jobs, workspaces, content, and notifications (for example, if another user is following your profile).
- Allow you to stay in touch, in communication and up to date with contacts, collaborators, and clients. To do so, you can find and ‘follow’ the professionals you choose.
- Suggest ‘follows’ or ‘tags’ for you and others.
- Allow you to seek out and be found for career opportunities.
- Serve you bespoke adverts.

 

2.2 Communicate with you.

We contact you and enable communications between Members. We offer settings to control what messages you receive and how often you receive some types of messages.

We will contact you through email, messages to your AdForum inbox, and other ways through our Services, including push notifications. We will send you messages about the availability of our Services, security, or other service-related issues. We also send messages about how to use the Services, network updates, reminders, job suggestions and promotional messages from us and our partners. You may change your communication preferences at any time.
Please be aware that you cannot opt-out of receiving service messages from us, including security and legal notices. We also use your information to respond to you when you contact us.

 

2.3 Advertising and Cookies.

We collect data through cookies and similar technologies. We use 'cookies' and similar technologies (e.g. web beacons, ad tags, and device identifiers) to identify information about your web browser session and personalization data each time you visit and use Our Services.
A 'cookie' is a small data file that will be stored by your web browser when you access Our Services.
These cookies do not contain any of your personal information such as name or email, the information stored in the cookie will only identify you to AdForum. Cookies can be used to enhance your use of Our Services, as We use them to help personalize Our delivery of services and material to you, such as information which is most relevant to your profile and interests.
You can set up your browser so that it does not accept Our cookies. You can also manually delete Our cookies from your browser. However, you will not be able to login to Our Services without cookies being enabled on your browser. When browsing without logging in, some features may not behave as intended when cookies are not accepted.

3. How We Share Information

Any data that you include on your talent profile or company profile and any content you post or social action (e.g. likes, follows, shares) you take on our Services will be seen by others.

Talent Profile or Company Profile
Your profile is fully visible to all Members and customers of our Services. Subject to your settings, it can also be visible to others on of our Services (e.g., Visitors to our Services or users of third-party search engines). Your settings, connection with the viewing Member, impact the availability of your profile.

Posts, Likes, Follows, Messages
Our Services allow viewing and sharing information including through posts, likes, and follows.

- When you share an article or a post (e.g., an update, image, video or article) publicly it can be viewed by everyone. Only members will be able to find and see your publicly-shared content.
- Any information you share through companies’ or other organizations’ pages on our Services will be viewable by it and others who visit those pages.
- When you follow a person or organization, you are visible to others and that “page owner” as a follower.
- We let senders know when you act on their message, subject to your settings where applicable.
- When you like or re-share on another’s content (including ads), others will be able to view these “social actions” and associate it with you (e.g., your name, profile and photo if you provided it).

4. How can I manage or delete information about me?

We provide you with the ability to access, rectify, port and erase your data.

We keep most of your personal data for as long as your account is open.
We retain your personal data while your account is in existence or as needed to provide you Services.
This includes data you or others provided to us and data generated or inferred from your use of our Services.
Even if you only use our Services when looking for a new job or a talent every few years, we will retain your information and keep your profile open until you decide to close your account.

4.1 Rights to Access and Control Your Personal Data

You can access or delete your personal data. You have many choices about how your data is collected, used and shared.

We provide many choices about the collection, use, and sharing of your data, from deleting or correcting data you include in your profile and controlling the visibility of your posts to communication controls. We offer you settings to control and manage the personal data we have about you through the Account & Settings page.

Account & Settings tab - allows you to manage your account settings, such as adding email addresses, changing your password or language, and other account management options.

Notification Settings Tab - houses your preferences for how AdForum and other parties are able to contact you, and how frequently you'd like to hear from us ( (e.g., newsletter settings, AdForum updates, Talent profile notifications, Alerts…).


For personal data that we have about you:

- Delete Data: You can ask us to erase or delete all or some of your personal data (e.g., if it is no longer necessary to provide Services to you).

- Change or Correct Data: You can edit some of your personal data through your account.
You can also ask us to change, update or fix your data in certain cases, particularly if it’s inaccurate.

- Object to, or Limit or Restrict, Use of Data: You can ask us to stop using all or some of your personal data (e.g., if we have no legal right to keep using it) or to limit our use of it (e.g., if your personal data is inaccurate or unlawfully held).

- Right to Access and/or Take Your Data: You can ask us for a copy of your personal data and can ask for a copy of personal data you provided in machine-readable form.

You may contact us, and we will consider your request in accordance with applicable laws.

Residents in the Designated Countries may have additional rights under their laws.

 

4.2 Account Closure

We keep some of your data even after you close your account.

If you choose to close your AdForum account, your personal data will generally stop being visible to others on our Services within 72 hours. We generally delete closed account information within 30 days of account closure, except as noted below.

We retain your personal data even after you have closed your account if reasonably necessary to comply with our legal obligations (including law enforcement requests), meet regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our User Agreement, or fulfill your request to “unsubscribe” from further messages from us. We will retain de-personalized information after your account has been closed.

The information you have shared with others (e.g., through credits, messages, updates or posts) will remain visible after you closed your account or deleted the information from your own profile or mailbox, and we do not control data that other Members copied out of our Services. Users content and ratings or review content associated with closed accounts will show an unknown user as the source. Your profile may continue to be displayed in the services of others (e.g., Ad credit).

5. Other Important Information

We monitor for and try to prevent security breaches. Please use the security features available through our Services.

5.1 Security

We implement security safeguards designed to protect your data, such as HTTPS. Accounts are secured by an encrypt password known only users. We regularly monitor our systems for possible vulnerabilities and attacks.
However, we cannot warrant the security of any information that you send us. There is no guarantee that data may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.

5.2 Direct Marketing and Do Not Track Signals

Our statements regarding direct marketing and “do not track” signals (DNT). We currently do not share personal data with third parties for their direct marketing purposes without your permission.
