Synopsis How can we turn the big global issue of extreme poverty into a small local problem? Fairtrade Belgium asked one simple question: How long would you work for 67 cents (the average daily income of cacao farmers)? Through real world examples, this campaign turned the idea into an experience. A law professor lectured for 17 seconds, a barber gave a customer an unfortunate buzz cut, journalists wrote columns with only 12 words. Once these experiences were shared on social media, the reality of 67 cents hit very close to home.
Philosophie A cacao farmer in the South makes only 67 euro cents per day. Fairtrade Belgium wanted to raise awareness for this global injustice. So we simply asked people: “How long would you work for 67 cents?”
