Synopsis | How can we turn the big global issue of extreme poverty into a small local problem? Fairtrade Belgium asked one simple question: How long would you work for 67 cents (the average daily income of cacao farmers)? Through real world examples, this campaign turned the idea into an experience. A law professor lectured for 17 seconds, a barber gave a customer an unfortunate buzz cut, journalists wrote columns with only 12 words. Once these experiences were shared on social media, the reality of 67 cents hit very close to home. |
Philosophie | A cacao farmer in the South makes only 67 euro cents per day. Fairtrade Belgium wanted to raise awareness for this global injustice. So we simply asked people: “How long would you work for 67 cents?” |
