Philosophie | A limited edition commemorative book was sent out to a few of Al Ismaelia’s clients. The book’s box package features a lino sheet on top. The receiver opens the book to find a blank cover, along with all the tools required to print their own unique cover and a list of simple instructions on how to do so. Once they’re done personalizing their copies of our book, the lino kit is theirs to keep and experiment with however way they’d like. |
Problème | Khotoot West El Balad is a typographic celebration of the ubiquitous Downtown Cairo shop sign. It is an initiative aimed at preserving the typographical heritage of the hand-painted calligraphy which many are remembered for. To engage the audience, we gave them tools, as described in more details in the synopsis, where they can hand-craft, same way it was done at the times these old signs and typefaces were created. |
Résultat | A dozen of books were distributed to Al Ismaelia's clients as well as stakeholders, university professors and key artists. |
