| Synopsis | Abused children often hide subconscious clues of their situations in classroom drawings. Unfortunately, many of these signs are discovered too late. To shed light on this, we opened an exhibit in the heart of Miami Art Week, where unsuspecting international visitors were exposed to art with a hidden twist. The exhibition took place during Miami Art Week, in the heart of Art Basel - the premier art show of the Americas - which includes seven full days of events, culture, and over 160,000 visitors. Explanation In an empty warehouse in the heart of the Miami’s art district - the Wynwood neighborhood- we built a fully immersive, temporary art gallery. Walls were erected and patterns created to control the flow and experience. Here, real children’s drawings were mounted with gallery quality canvases and frames, complete with audio guides and object labels. The lighting, sound and ambient was tinkered with to match the mood and setting. Unsuspecting guests were then invited to experience a one-of-a-kind art show with a hidden twist. Cameras were affixed throughout the gallery to capture the raw reactions of our visitors. |
