Roberto’s career in advertising spans over 20 years, working in Spain, Latin America, and the U.S. for top advertising agencies such as FCB, Saatchi & Saatchi, Grey Global, and most recently IPG's Mediabrands. Over this period of time, Roberto worked for a wide range of companies such as US Bank, DIAGEO, Panasonic, Kmart, Coors Brewing Co., General Motors, The Home Depot, General Mills, HBO Latino, ACE Hardware, Verizon, The United Nations, Dish Networks, SlingTV and The Ad Council.
Recognition for his creative work include Clio, Addys, New York Festival, and Advertising Age Creative Award among others. In 2015, The Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History added part of his work to its permanent collection of campaign materials and personal artifacts of the Hispanic advertising industry in the United States.
His career in the film industry includes producing independent feature films and documentaries. In 2012 he produced the documentary YASUNI to create awareness of the excessive oil explotaition in the Ecuadorean amazon forest. The film premiered at the Miami International Film Festival, and started a tour of selected screenings, including the NY Lincoln Center's Film Society and Yale University.
In 2013 he produced the romantic comedy Looking For Maria Sanchez (200 Cartas), starring Broadway's Hamilton Lin-Manuel Miranda. The film was featured in The New York Times as a unique case of brand integration in independent films.
